World Children's Day in Kuala Belait

The guest of honour at the event was Awg Hj Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yunos, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, who also presented tokens of appreciation and certificates to sponsors and facilitators as well as forum participants.
The forum resolution was delivered by Dyg Haidahtul Aleeyah binti Abdul Rashid, a Year Six excellent student from Tumpuan Telisai Primary School, who later handed the resolution to the guest of honour.

One of the resolutions covered was on the issue of bullying in school. The resoulution states that bullying should be eradicated and victims of such acts should not be afraid to report the matter to the relevant authorities. It also highlighted the importance of promoting awareness on the benefits and dangers of social networking sites.

They then emphasised that individuals with special needs (OBK) should be given opportunities in employment and be the main agenda in any kind of policy formulation in the country. A specialised infrastructure for OBK should also be constructed.

"The hall has been lively with the sounds of their discussions and they have also been (taking) their own initiatives in their final presentation. Some even decided to make a role play out of the topic given," said Dyg Noor Hidayah.
